To be attracted to (sexually or romantically) the same gender or sex. Females are often called Lesbians. Gay is the non-offensive term to describe two males romantically in love with one another. Often is used as an insult in middle school.
The pride flag for homosexuals is typically a rainbow consisting of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, sometimes adding brown and black at the top to represent people of colour. This flag can be used to generalize all LGBTQ+ members, though. The flag for homosexual women varies. One is called the "Butch lesbian flag" which has shades of purple and grey, used to describe women with more masculine traits. The other is called the "Lipstick lesbian flag" and has shades of red and pink instead, describing lesbians with more feminine traits.
Men have a special flag, too, which uses the colours green and blue in that order. Most prefer to use the generalized pride flag, though.
Person A: You're gay
Person B: I was raised by two dads, so it's not a problem.
Person A: I meant it as a compliment
Person B: Oh, cool. Most middle schoolers use gay or homosexual as an insult, so it's nice to know people use it as a compliment.
