It is a verb, used in general conversation, in informal conversation. It refers to the act of talking, often rubbish, merely to pass time.
It draws its meaning from the drawn out process of chewing fat from a steak, as it is often a pleasurable experience since it tastes amazing, but also takes up time.
"The bus doesn't come for two hours."

Pressing the keys on a cell phone, radio, or computer keyboard and getting improper results because your fingers have hit more than one key at a time. A common problem for those of us with pudgy fingers.
I can't use that cell phone. I keep on fat-fingering the buttons, and I keep on getting wrong numbers!

This term will help those familiar with table football, or foos as it is more commonly know, to name a common injury. The injury occurs while rolling a rod up your wrist and forearm. It leads to red marks and eventual bruising and in some extreme cases can lead to your hand swelling up, thus fat hand.
