lately you have

Another one of the sentences of doom. Usually said by your boss after you swiped too many xerox copies or pens from the office, or by your parents when your report card/behavior is not up to snuff.

"Lately you have been throwing pencils in the asbestos ceiling tiles at school. The police are going to investigate this as a death threat. We need to talk!"

Do you have a mask?

A question that indirectly tells someone to put their mask on. When someone asks you “Do you have a mask?”, it means that masks are required and you have to wear one. It’s just a nicer way of saying it.

Security: Do you have a mask?

Guest: I don’t have a mask.

Security: A mask is required, please wear one. (gives mask to guest)

Guest: No thanks, I’d rather not.

Security: You’re gonna have to leave the mall then, since you refuse to wear a mask.
