No need to investigate

Evidently, the position many Republicans would take if hundreds of screaming people broke down the locked doors and windows of their home to gain entry, marauded through the house, kicked down bedroom doors looking for the children - cowering under their beds in fear of their lives and whom the uninvited guests were threatening to hang by the neck until dead - stole personal papers and computers, shot tear gas and bear repellent at family members, severely injured several and directly caused the deaths of several others.

"There is no need to investigate", many elected Republicans said of the January 6, 2021 storming of the Capitol by Trump partisans.
