Present-Profit

The profit you make from gift exchanges during Christmas season.

Sarah got me a Hollister sweater for £100, and I got her CD for £10! That's £90 of Present-Profit, it's gonna be a good Christmas!

Sleight for Profit

/slīt fȯr prä-fət/

When an event is created/fabricated to push a country into war for the means of profiting from the war. A type of false flag event where the only thing that is false is the purpose of the war.

The entry into the war looked like a simple mistake but when every thing unfoled the mistake was nothing more than Sleight for Profit.

Turn a Profit

/tərn a präfət/

To make money; to make a profit from a particular venture.

We're going to have to close the shop if we don't turn a profit again this quarter.
We broke even again, but I think we will turn a profit next quarter.

windfall profit

"A tax levied on a industry by a politician eager to pander to economically ignorant voters who, for whatever reason, are upset with that industry." Neal Boortz
