When you have something to do in a couple of hours and so your brain can't focus on anything else until that event happens.
I have work at 3pm today and so my brain is going to be on waiting mode until work starts.
When two people are interested in one another, but unsure how to proceed with establishing a relationship.
"Hey, have you hooked up with Alex yet?"
"No, it's still a waiting game."

What you say when one (or more) of your friends is talking to you, and you are daydreaming about something completely unrelated. Usually said after saying something else, completely random.

Gravel-voiced singer/songwriter from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today. His albums from the 1970's include music mostly from the jazz and folk background. (see Foreign Affairs, Closing Time) In the 1980's and early 1990's, Waits became more of a carnival-style poet, writing songs with crazy rhythms, archaic instruments, and mesmerizing lyrics. (see Rain Dogs, Swordfishtrombones, Bone Machine) Today, Waits has created an interesting mixture of all his previous styles, most apparent on the albums Blood Money and Mule Variations. His latest album, Real Gone, is made up of Afro-Caribbean rhythms and beats, dropping his lifelong instrument of choice, the piano. An indie-cult favorite.

When two girls sleep at a house after a party, but only one of them has sex with the guys living there. The girl that didn't have sex has to shamefully sleep on the couch and wait for her friend to emerge from the bedroom before the two can leave together.
Candice woke up at 9:00 and made the wait of shame until 10:00 when Mandy finally stumbled out of Ted's bedroom holding her bra in her hand.
