A lot like a Hatfield/McCoy divided family, a blue/gray divided family isn't meant to be functional. As much as the more pretentious family members tend to hide the lack of civility for an everything's fine facade, a blue/gray divided family doesn't work out in the long run.
There was nobody left in the Hatfield/McCoy divided family after they all decided they would be the last family member standing, or every other family member was coming with them, which might have been for the best, as nobody would miss some of them. The blue/gray divided family next door snuck in surplus ammunition.

noun- the 18 year old main character in the books "powerless", "reckless", and "fearless". paedyn lives in a world (parkt of it is called ilya, the location in which she lives) where the people have powers, and the ones who don't (like her) are called "ordinaries". ordinaries are accused of carrying a deadly disease, and any who are found are supposedly killed. in "powerless", paedyn's best friend is adena, and they live in loot alley. her main goal is to survive with adena, and to do this she steals daily. one day, she sees a man (kai azer) who she loots from. later, it is discovered that he is one of the princes of ilya. kai runs into a silencer (who can mute and kill people) and is saved by paedyn. also in the book, the sixth purging trials are coming up, where individuals compete in a competition to win money and survive. because of paedyn's encounter with the future enforcer of ilya (kai), she is put in the purging trials (along with him). it is revealed that her dad was killed by the king, which is why she despises royalty. paedyn's main love interest is kai, regardless of her not liking the authority of ilya. she also joins the "resistance". at the end of the book, she survives and kills the king after an attack at the last trial by the resistance. in addition, the book ends in a cliffhanger where it is given away that kai was given a quest to kill paedyn's dad five years earlier. these events are only in "powerless". 10 likes and i'll make "reckless"!
