Hip hop usually characterized by more glitz than chops. Hype Hop albums/artists are charicterized by large amounts of press just before the albums release. The hope is to generate such a stir, that the work will be bought on speculation alone.
This is a similar tactic engaged in by the movie industry for horrible summer blockbusters. (see "polishing a turd").

to hop over a low fence, by putting both hands on the fence, one foot on top of the fence to one side of you, while lifting the other one up and over the fence under your other leg, almost jumping, and land on the other side on your feet.

Before they went to see the sea and the view, they g-hopped over the fence on the other side of the street.
