By reading the books, owning a item of Mass effect, or playing the game more than 6 times.

Jake keeps saying that, "Mass effect will suck you in like a black hole!"

the wow effect

Effect of surprise by getting to know an awesome new fact that ´ll change the life of the involved person basically for ever. Often seen by the use of DMT.

After loading ~ 50 mg of clean jungle spice in to the pipe and smoking it, I get the wow effect.

Ogdensburg Effect

(1) the act of using extreme resourcefulness to the point of desperation.

The Ogdensburg effect is choosing the "least dirty" of your dirty clothes so you do not to have to do laundry.

Vegas Effect

The phenomenon where as anger and frustration lead to poor performance/mistakes which in turn lead to more anger and frustration resulting in a "feed back loop" which is amplified with every cycle.

"What's wrong with that guy? He's really pissed off!"

"He came in to work angry and started making rinickulous mistakes. He must be suffering the Vegas Effect."

Oh this is great, the Sporcle Effect in full form here. I remembered Kyrgyzstan and Papua New Guinea, but not the friggin' UK!

The Gerstmann Effect

Basically when people hate on you for being honest or forthright with your opinions. You stand by your principals no matter what, this can often be misconstrued as having no regard for the feelings of others, but in reality only shows integrity and sincerity.

People hate you regardless.
