A type of improvised grenade-like bomb used mainly in the first world war. Soldiers would use the empty tins from their ration of jam and fill it with explosives and shrapnel. Improvised jam tins often resemble the 'Double Cylinder Bomb' that was in use at the same time.
"I managed to kill two guys in trenches today using a couple of jam tins"
or
"Shit, a jam tin went off next to me and now I've got shrapnel stuck in my leg"

A useful way of fending of those irritating flies whilst enjoying the grand game of golf.
One would smear jam or another fruit based condiment on a couple of young ethnic chaps and have them follow in tow. Like a magnet the flies would stick

come on pal! i'm a white british kid and i know def jam didn't originate in the mid 90's and has fuck all to do with mos def. it (was) a legendary record label, see public enemy, beastie boys, ll cool j and bunch of other old skool legends

When someone who has ran out of credit, or valid ticket/pass, on his/her oyster card causes delay for other people to pass through the ticket barrier (London Underground)
It took me 3 mins to exit the station because of people causing an Oyster jam.

an opportunity for baristas to come together and pull shots, learn more, and essentially nerd out for one or more days. Those that drive ridiculous distances to attend these as possible are considered to be 'jam whores'
"Dude, are you going to the barista jam next weekend? I heard there's gonna be a latte art throw down!"
"No...it's like 7 hours away! I'm not a jam whore like you."
