Where I come from chode is simply a synonym for dick. It is a shortening of the Spanish or Mexican word choriso or chorizo which literally means sausage. In proper Spanish pronunciation the R in the word choriso is pronounced as a D.

before the current slang definition, chode used to be used as the imperfect tense of the verb chidechide:chode::shit:shat.
James Joyce uses this in Ulysses in episode 14:
