A term very commonly used in the 1940s and 50s by juveniles to describe a French letter or condom. It has been claimed that the term derives from the time when millions of ‘GI-Joes’ (American soldiers) were issued with French letters as part of their equipment. As a result, Europe was flooded with Joe-bags.
‘I bought a packet of Joe-bags from the barbers this morning. I need them because I’m going to shag Doris tonight!’
An average joe is a symbolization of an average American person (generally male). The term was used mainly in the late 90s - early 2000s, when the majority of America's population consisted of middle class citizens. Usually falls under the following traits: considered not to be dumb nor smart, follows any kind of sports (and also drinks heavily when their favourite team is not doing well), works five or six days a week (usually as a white collar worker), and comes home every night to sit on their sofas and watch TV.
Teacher: What do you want to be when you grow up, children?
Stupid child: Mommy said I could be anything, so I want to be a billionaire!
Asian: I want to be a doctor (because my parents are going to kill me if I dont!).

Joe Strummer (born John Grahm Mellor) was/is the vocalist for one of the most important bands in punk rock The Clash. With a leftist political view and a reggae influence, The Clash rose to the top. The Clash broke up in the late 1980's and Strummer went on to a solo career. In 1995 or so, Joe strummer signed onto Hellcat records with a backing band called The Mescaleros, releasing fourl albums before his death on December 22, 2002
Joe strummer was one of the most amazing vocalists of the 80's.

a.k.a. Chairman Hahn and Mr. Hahn, born March 15, 1977, is the turntablist and keyboardist for the band Linkin Park. Joe is a second-generation Korean American who was raised in Glendale California where he graduated high school and took an interest in visual arts. He attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California with bandmate Mike Shinoda. He joined Linkin Park in '97 as the band's DJ. Since then he has directed most of their music videos. He has also directed for The X-Files, Sphere, and Dune. He is known to be a fan of electronica and drum n bass music. He has acknowledged Aphex Twin as being his biggest influence.
