One of the greatest Asian directors of the modern era. He is able to combine numerous ideologies so that his films can be appreciated by both Western and Eastern audiences. His films span a broad range of genres. He won an Academy Award for Best Director for "Brokeback Mountain".

Directing credits include "Brokeback Mountain", "Hulk", "Lust, Caution", and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

Ang tsinelas

(Pronounced: chee neh las) The Filipino version of la chancla used by Filipino moms to threaten their child and beats the shit out of their children if they show signs of misbehaviour, or some shit. It usually gives little children PTSD.

Mother: YOU DIDN'T DO YOUR LAUNDRY? GET OVER HERE AND TAKE ANG TSINELAS.
Son: Ah shit, here we go again.

The child now has PTSD because his ass got spanked by ang tsinelas.

Often shouted and used to describe affirmation, agreement, or describe pleasure with a person, place, or thing.

Synonyms include “hell yeah, right on, fucking A, or absofuckinglutelty”

Person 1: “hey did you bring beer?”
Person 2: “hell yes”
Person 1: “woo angs!”

Or

Person 1: “what’re you doing today?”

ang moh

red hair literally. refers to caucasians.

the original term is 'ang moh gui', meaning a caucasian devil. 'ang moh gui' is used by ppl in 'nanyang' decades ago. most probably referring to colonial masters, who were mostly britons.

now, the 'gui'is dropped and juz means caucasian. no hatred involved.

me: "that ang moh is shuai (chinese word for handsome. To me, it also includes being hot)"
my friend: "well, most ang mohs are.."
