lady of the lens

A cam whore.

A play on the term "lady of the evening" to mean a prostitute.

"Yo man! I saw your girl's tits on the internet!"

"What? no way?!"

"Seriously, shes a lady of the lens"

Long Lens

This word commonly confuses all the new users to SkatePerception.com. For some reason people can't put two and two together and figure out that the term "Long Lens" is not an actual additional lens to your video camera, but it is infact the stock lens that is built in already.

A fisheye lens is an attachable lens onto the Bayo mount or the thread mount.

A long lens is the lens already in your camera.

TA FUCKING DA.

Collimating lens

A lens which focuses light rays from a source into parallel paths, thus focusing the image relayed at infinity. Highly useful in Head-Up-Display systems, for obvious reasons.

This will be the 2nd in my series of largely useless technical jargon, which will continue as it is more fun writing this than writing a report on the performance and aerodynamics of an MAV.

-For more amusing and less contrived definitions, look up my ones for France or Europe. They're OK.

Zoom Lens

a Zoom lens is a lens on a camera (still and video both) to get a closer shot of the subject. There are lenses that have both optical zoom and digital zoom capabilities (optical zoom being the better of the two)

Tickle the Lens

"Tickle the Lens" or ""Tickling the Lens" is used to describe a person that is great at photography. This person can either be "natural" or "formally trained" to take a great-looking photo. This expression is similar to "Tickle the Ivory" or "Tickling the Ivory" which is a person great at playing the piano.

If you're looking for a wedding photographer, I've been known to "Tickle the Lens."
