Shutted up

The act of shutting your fucking mouth in the past tense firm

The sophomores shutted up because we, juniors, hate them and we made them.

Shut Down

To be shut down is similar to being burnt (see 'burn'). This occurs when the first party is keen to do something, but the second party does not want to do it with that person, so they 'shut them down'. More often than not this happens involving trying to pick up with people of the opposite sex.

Greg: "Hey sweety, will you go out with me"
Laura: "I'd really like to, but I don't think we can"
.... Greg just got SHUT DOWN!

Shut the up

When somebody is annoying and you don't want to curse at them you can just say "shut the up" instead of "shut the f**k up" / "shut the hell up"

Dude, shut the up, you're annoying.

Shut it down

To end a situation of your making because it has gotten out of control.

To call an end to a situation that is heading in a direction you don't like.

Usually used in a humorous manner to highlight that you don't approve of a situation

You organise a work social event and after a few hours it is descending into drunken chaos so you call 'OK, shut it down'.

You and friends go to see a movie that turns out to be of poor quality or distasteful so as it gets to a particularly bad scene you call 'Shut it down' as you walk out.
