Severus Snape

The greasy haired, hook nosed potions master in Harry Potter that "loathes"...mostly everything. Mysterious, and has a haunting past. Was a death eater, but turned spy for Dumbledore and the Order Of the Pheonix.

In the sixth book, Snape murders Dumbledore.

In the seventh book, Snape shows Harry why he did it. Turns out he loved Harry's mother, Lily, and turned to Dumbledore for help when he found out Voldemort was going to kill her (and her son and husband). When Dumbledore has one year left to live he asks Snape to kill him in order to help others.

Dumbledore: But this is touching Severus, have you grown to care for the boy, after all?
Severus Snape: For him? Expecto Patronum!
(A silver doe patronus like Lily Potter's emits from Snape's wand.)
Dumbledore: After all this time?
Snape: Always

Lily Potter: Does it make a difference, being Muggleborn?
Snape hesistated. His black eyes, eager in the greenish gloom moved over the pale face, the dark red hair.
Snape: No, It doesn't make any difference.

Snape Factor

n. A quality a man (or less commonly woman) is said to have when they are found attractive, but for no obvious or discernible reason. They may not be physically attractive, smart or possess any typical desirable qualities, but are nonetheless alluring. Possession of the Snape Factor is often subjective, and it is rare for two people to agree about it.

The phrase originates from the character Severus Snape, of the ubiquitous Harry Potter series, who is dark, snide and almost ghoulish in appearace, but is considered attractive by many nonetheless. He has the Snape Factor.

Girl A: I don't know why, but he's kind of cute, somehow...

Girl B: Are you crazy? He just chased a squirrel down the street with holy water!

Girl A: Yeah, but-- I don't know, he just has the Snape Factor.

Severus Snape

(Beware of SPOILERS)

The Potions Master at Hogwarts.

Likes: (Defense Against the) Dark Arts, Lily Evans, Potions, Lily Evans, Scaring first-years, and Lily Evans

Dislikes: James Potter, Harry Potter, Voldemort, and a lot of other things...

He's also quite a good runner. Nobody runs faster than "Snape confronted with shampoo."

My name is Severus Snape and I love potions, and Lily, and potions, and Lily.

Snape Rolls

Something you say questioningly when you misheard a friend. Derived from a conversation between two friends, in which one misheard the word "staples" and thought she said "Snape Rolls."

Staaaaaaples.

Snape rolls?

Man, I had a lot of chores last night.

Severus Snape

The Potions Master at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. In book 6, he became the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and in the 7th, became the Headmaster and got killed by Lord Voldemort's snake, Nagini. To this day, no one knows if his portrait resides in the Headmaster's room, but seeing as how he was a one, most guess yes. He at first had a goatee in the book's illustrations, but since portrayed by Alan Rickman, he apparently shaved it off. He has many fangirls (me included), but I am one of the sane ones, people. He is also extremely hot. And yes I had to say that.

Severus Snape is extremely smart and handsome. He loves Lily Evans, who marries James Potter instead, and turned over to the good side the moment Voldemort threatened her. I love him, but I know that it will never happen.
