This is used to describe when a player misses a really easy chance, usually in front of goal. Whatever the reason, it is embarrassing when a player misses a sitter.

Timo Werner is the real goat; people fail to acknowledge his greatness and playstyle. Kids always say Pessi or Pendu are GOATs and they really are (Ghosts of All Time). He won the UCL in 2021, that's not his greatest achievement, he was robbed 13 Ballon D'Or's from Pessi and Pendu (they never fail to rob), 9 robbed Ucls from them and 1 robbed world cup.
