I need to rake my yard because Hurricane Irma left lawn broccoli everywhere.
"Choppin' Broccoli" or "The Lady I Know" is a song written by Dana Carvey as songwriter Derek Stevens on Saturday Night Live. The skit goes that songwriter Derek Stevens doesn't have a demo tape at a meeting with producers, so he tells them he wanted to play it live. He then sits at the piano and makes up a ridiculous song about a woman he knows (the song is entitled "The Lady I Know" but SNL fans have come to know it as "Choppin' Broccoli") going to a food store and buying broccoli then going home and chopping it. Look it up on YouTube, I guarantee you'll laugh. It's hailed as one of the funniest SNL skits of all time.
"...And my lady she went down town, she brought some broccoli, she brought it home, she's choppin' broccoli..."

A euphemism for a fart that is extremely offensive to one's sense of smell. Derived from the smell of broccoli being re-heated in a microwave, which smells surprisingly similar to the human expulsion of gas.
"Plug your nose, I'm about to seriously microwave broccoli up in here."

Mary snorted in disgust at the newspaper article on the correlation between smoking & lung cancer, drinking & cirrhosis of the liver & excess calorie consumption & weight gain. She hated this kind of broccoli journalism.
Mary decided this was a good time to have a cigarette, a chocolate bar & a glass of wine.
I had to get a "Broccoli parent" for my pet elephant Blarf.

The disgusted look one gives when presented with something detestable. Similar to the face a child gives when asked to eat broccoli.
I pulled out and gave her a facial, she just made a broccoli face and ran to the bathroom.
