deadbeat holiday

When an alcoholic or drug addict decides to spend his/her entire paycheck on his/her vice of choice and then go on a bender. This person parties or isolates until all the booze or drugs are done only to wake up and realize that the rent, bills, food budget, and utilities weren't paid and then faced with an eviction notice, search warren, or an ambulance ride to the hospital . Even worse they are killed by their binging or by outside circumstances.

This term comes from Green Day's song "Deadbeat Holiday" in their "Warning" album released in 2000.

"Hey man, what happened to Billy? I haven't seen him in over a week."

"Yeah, that piece of trash is taking a deadbeat holiday... I hope he makes it out of this one alive."

Green Day:

"Wake up, the house is on fire
and the cat's caught in the dryer
philosophy's a liar
when your home is your headstone"

deadbeat dad

A father who does not provide for a family that he was part of creating. Does not have morals or a responsible enough nature to realize how difficult he is making life for his family.

My husband works and keeps his money to himself and decides what he is going to pay and when. He wanted to get married, he wanted to have children and now that we do he isn't stepping up to the plate to ensure our future. I am 6 months pregnant, we have a two year old and I work over 40 hours a week trying to make ends meet. For 4 months he made excuses as to why he was not making any money and yet he takes all the credit playing himself out to be the provider. There should be a definition for a dead beat husband who causes his wife so much grief that she wants to get a divorce and then he becomes the deadbeat father.

Deadbeat Dad

A sperm donor who decides being a father to his children is no longer of interest or a priority to him. A person who forces hardship and hurt upon his kids due to his selfishness and lack of care towards their quality of life and childhood years. A person with garnished wage orders is the ultimate deadbeat. The state has to step in and care for his children bc he won't voluntarily contribute. No one is more heartless and selfish than a parent who has their child go without so they can have more. A person who fears exposure of reality and the truth because their choices and actions are so shameful and disgusting.
Other possible synonyms: narcissist, sociopath, a shallow empty walking corspe with a dad costume on, childhood stealer, a regret to give your heart to, a mistake to trust or believe, a frequent disappointment, the ugliest form of a coparent.

The deadbeat dad walked around the airport with his pilot costume on enjoying the respect and idolizations he received from passengers and flight attendants. Wearing a costume was his escape from the reality of the truth which was that he was a childhood damager and innocent offspring heartbreaker.
