A New Jersey-based softcore punk band.
To date (Nov, '07), they have three full-lengths out. I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love (Commonly abbreviated to Bullets); Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Abb. Revenge); and The Black Parade (Abb. TBP).
This band doesn't deserve half the shit they cop. People judge them over their mainstream songs - these songs are not their best, and the band as a whole should not be judged on them. No band should.
This band has a way of saving lives. Something about their lyrics, their passion, their emotion and what their frontman has been through has the ability to save people.

Rhythm Guitarist/Backup Screamo: Frank Iero
Bassist: Mikey Way
Drummer: Bob Bryar, formerly Matt Pelissier.
This band are often called 'emo' because of their emotional lyrics and 'dark' dress sense.
The truth of the matter is, there is a fine line between emo and softcore punk. My Chemical Romance fall into the latter.
Elizabeth put Revenge on the CD player one night when she was about to kill herself, and it brought her back down.
"Dude, my chemical romance are weak faggots! Listen to that 'Love You' song! It's gay as!"
"Hey, give them a break! Have you even heard a song like Thank You For The Venom or Our Lady Of Sorrows?"

My Chemical Romance are one the best bands around they do not deserve you mother fuckers giving them shit on here!! It's not emo music!! It is just plain fucking good music! My Chemical Romance are just plain great and make much better music that you ever could!
I don't have an example for My Chemical Romance being the best except for the fact that if you actually listen to there music you will understand who good it actualy is!

Okay, they're not punk, emo, rock...whatever. They don't belong in any genre. They're just pure genius. that's all there is to it. You're right, there will be haters. There will be lovers. Like anything.

Allow me to clear up all of the crap definitions here. My Chemical Romance is not pop. My Chemical Romance is not punk. My Chemical Romance is not emo, and they have never siad they were any of those things. My Chemical Romance is undr the genre of post hardcore. A VERY SMALL AMOUNT of their earlier songs MIGHT have passed for metal, but they are a "Post Hardcore" band. I'm not going to say that they're good or that their bad, because definitions aren't for pushing people's own personal opinions. They are for informing.

Who cares what genre the band is? I dosen't fucking matter if they are emo or punk or hadcore or whatever! My Chemical Romance is a fucking awesome band! It is good music, and if you don't like it then, sorry, you don't know what you are missing, but I am not gonna sit here and tell you that you are a dumbass or something like that, you just have different taste in music. If you have only heard one or two of their songs, I suggest you listen to some other things by them. I know that I don't like Helena, Ghost of You, of I'm not Okay. Just because I don't like them dosn't mean the band sucks. Give them a try. As for teenie bopping, people are going to do whatever they want, no matter what people say. And for good measure, I agree with those of you who say Gerard is sexy.
BTW: Green Day is two words, not "Greenday". If you are going to diss a band, at least spell their name properly. What can I say about this band....hmmm, well first off, if you like them you are either a fucking fag, or have serious mental problems. They are not punk, they ARE emo, wich by the way, is short for "emotional rock". they suck, are gay and the singer looks ike a fucking girl. listen to some real music, you fucking faggots.
