The odd man out of the New York City boroughs. Staten Island is west of the Hudson and should be considered part of New Jersey. Kind of like how Marble Hill is on the mainland but is part of Manhattan. Go figure.
Growing up in Yonkers, Staten Island was like the moon: a shithole, no reason to there, feels a lot farther than it actually is, a place you see and hear about but still seems mythical.

Little Italy neighborhoods in Staten Island. I don't know what that one racist cat is talking about. First of all, Italians aren't white at all. Most of us, especially Southern Italians, are dark-skinned. I am actually brown-skinned. We have been lynched (actually, we were the second most lynched group in the South, next to blacks), discriminated against, and shit on by WASPs and whiteboys every since we came to this country. My grandfather couldn't get into college because they had a quota for Italians, Jews, and Blacks. Italians have faced hardships and racism. Hell, you wont believe how many times I've been called "dago", "wop", or "goombah" in my life. So fuck you. Also, most of us are accepting of all different people of all different backgrounds. I got black, Irish, and Puerto Rican friends as well as Italian friends. Anyone who is a good person is alright with me.

A borough of New York City. People that don't live here act as if a plethora of great activities is thrown in their fucking faces every weekend. Apparently being well-groomed (eyebrow waxing, etc.) is looked down upon by ignorant shitstains on society, and a "Staten Island accent" is inferior to any other accent, no matter how idiotic other accents may sound (such as a Southern accent, which is comparable to a deformed moose having sex with a frog). There is a large landfill that hasn't been in use since 2001, after the last of the September 11th debris was delivered. Yet, people that are oblivious of life in Staten Island continue to add definitions.
Two 70+ year old men having a conversation:
Man 1: "So where did you grow up?"
Man 2: "I grew up in Staten Island, New York."
Man 1: "Oh, I've heard that's not such a great place.Your life must have sucked pretty bad then, huh?"
Man 2: "Actually not in the slightest, I'm still happily married to my wife of 40 years, I have 3 children that all went through college with full scholarships and now they have their own families. How about you, where did you grow up?"
Man 1: "Oh I grew up in Arkansas."
Man 2: "Oh that sounds nice, how's your life been so far?"
Man 1: "...I got charged with 25 to life for murdering a prostitute after I robbed a bank, killed 3 police officers and highjacked a truck full of explosives...Luckily I fled the country though!"
Man 2: "Yeah! You define the word lowlife!"

The asshole of the universe. A place where white kids who try act like they are black, but fail miserably. A place where the Wu-Tang Clan resides. A place where the the short 'A' sound is pronounced 'aw' by some people. A place where the only thing to do is hang out at the mall.

a borough in new york that people hate on 24\7. thats enough for all this hating on staten island. 75% of u that hate on staten island have never been there. and not everyone is a guido with spikey hair. im albanian and im from the projects in south beach. now for all the people that see this and start hating; stop talkin bout guidos and go to the project in staten, then u will never hate again on staten.
