soul-friend

A soul-friend is like a soul-mate, but instead of being between two lovers, being between two friends. These friends love each other in a non-sexual way and will also constantly know what the other is thinking and doing. This is similar to a BFFL, but is more permanent as souls cannot be destroyed and will last longer than a lifetime. The use of the term 'soul' does not indicate race, but implies an afro-ethno origin (just as in "soul-food" and "soul-plane").

Kalyn: "Patty, I just want you to know that I am almost certain that we are soul-friends."
Patricia: "Look Kalyn! I told you! We are not soul-friends. We are just really, really good friends."
