To go amnesty is to completely lose touch with reality, no matter what the intention was, and to equate a victim with their abuser.
This phrase originates with the report Amnesty International published on August 4, 2022, which plays to Russian propaganda and has been widely criticized, including by Amnesty's own staff in different countries.
Unfortunately, even after multiple resignations of staff who disavowed the report, Amnesty's Secretary General Agnes Callamard and Advisor Donatella Rovera failed to recognize their mistakes and apologize to the people of Ukraine, thus invoking anger from the international community and particularly #NAFO fellas, who flood them with funny memes pointing at their mistake.
Apart from the report, there are multiple other examples where Amnesty went amnesty.
She's gone amnesty and said the Jews should have just made peace with the Nazis to stop the Holocaust.
Typically used when referring to project resourcing:
When a particularly stressful part of a project has been seen out, and resources will not be stretched in future months. In essence as the wombat passes through the snake, the skin is extremely stretched (similar to the metaphorical human resources). When the wombat has fully passed, the resources are not as stretched and more capable of dealing with new issues.
Person 1: Our resources are looking very slim next month
Person 2: I wouldn't be too stressed, I feel like the wombats gone through the snake, and we should be back to normal in a few weeks
