Death Star

A formula or model of corporate logos, popoular in the late 1980's after AT&T broke off from Bell in 1982 and developed a logog that originally, was intended to reference a lighted sphere, but more closely resembled the design of the Death Star from the Star Wars movies. The corporate logos for several companies, including NeoData, Centrobe (Now EDS) were among the slew of tech companies to adopt similar abstracted variations of this concept, and in effect, resulted in a bunch death-star like logos. The most famous and enduring of these is AT&T's logo, of course.

*Points to a sign for some company's office*

star power

a "power" used in guitar hero to rack up more points. It is useable when the blue bar is past the white line. You put into effect by lifting up your guitar until all of the notes turn blue.

I used star power to get more points in Guitar Hero II.

Nautical Star

While the nautical star once served as a symbol of safe return and guidance for sailors, it has had other uses over the years. Among other things, it was used by lesbians in the 1950s as an identifying mark so they could recognize each other.

I got a nautical star tattoo yesterday.
