Live Under A Rock

It is to be a person who lives in isolation from and has limited knowledge of what is happening in the world around them. Used to describe an ignorant or obtuse person. Usually someone who lives in the basement of their mothers house.

Someone who spends too much time playing Farmville on Facebook.

Often someone glued to their television or computer screen.

Usually brought up when someone makes a comment about a big movie that they have recently seen where the other person is oblivious to said movie.

Someone who lives in their basement and only comes out for special occasions.

"You've never heard of Obama? Where have you been for the last couple of years... living under a rock?"

"Unless you've been living under a rock, you'd know about..."

"You need to get out from under that rock you've been living under!"

"Wait... you don't know about that? Are you stupid!?"
"No, I have just been living under a rock recently."

"Who is our president"
"Are you serious!? Do you live under a rock?

Too Beautiful to Live

An excellent podcast put on by Luke Burbank, Jen Andrews, and Sean DeTore. The podcast stems from a radio show by the same name (often abbreviated "TBTL") that was cancelled on September 11, 2009.

Based in Seattle, Washington, it is often described as the "Seinfeld" of talk radio. Popular segments include Awesome/Not Awesome, This Day in TBTL History, Music for Your Weekend, and Cooking with Sean DeTore.

The show's blog and podcasts can be found at tbtl.net

I was listening to Too Beautiful to Live today and it was freaking hilarious.

Grass Lives Matter

A newly-founded movement that states that we, as well as animals, are all plants. It is often regarded as a philosophy.

As previously established, it is stated that we are all wood. Then, paper is our skin ripped off. Wood. Wood is made of carbon. We are all made of carbon. Animals are made of carbon. Some animals eat grass. That's because trees are at war with all other plants. They are parasites. The plant eating trees eat plants, killing them. But the animals that eat other animals are traitors. They decided #GrassLivesMatter and they started killing other trees.

The founders of this philosophy are unknown. However, we should all thank them for this wonderful movement.

"Hey, did you hear of the Grass Lives Matter movement? Nothing like that Black Lives Matter bullshit! Hippies were right all along!"

Long Live The King

"Long live the King!" refers to the heir who immediately succeeds to a throne upon the death of the preceding monarch. Meaning the monarchy never dies even when the King does.

Long Live: To live on forever even if a soul has moved on.

"The King is Dead! Long live the King!.. The throne shall never be empty; the country shall never be without a monarch."

living causes death

1) A health or medical study that shows that a living person has a 100% of dying at some point in their life.

2) A reaction to a health or medical study that shows some substance causes illness.

3) Everything has some kind of consequence. Suck it up and deal with it!

First thing I learned in med-school was living causes death.

Living Rent Free

A metaphorical and rather elusive phrase which is used to describe having obsessive thoughts over another person or group (usually followed by 'in my head').

The elusive part, imo, comes from the phrase's seeming implication that someone wants to live inside your head, as in they wanted you to think about them, when it's often the opposite case (i.e. you obsess about them and they don't know/it wasn't their plan).

So when I say "Jake is living rent-free in Sally's mind", it doesn't imply that Jake has successfully enamoured Sally with his charm. What it really means is that Jake is unaware that he is the object of obsession in Sally's mind. But since Jake is unaware, his pov becomes nullified and therefore defaults to Sally's pov ("Sally is obsessed with Jake"). This phrase ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ฏ be used to imply that Jake had successfully infatuated Sally, however most people tend to use it for its inverse meaning. It can also be used for someone beyond just your crush, such as someone who hates you.

Just shining some light on the hidden logic behind this phrase, which some people might find confusing (e.g. me).

๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—˜๐˜…๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฒ:
Maddy: Who are you staring at?
Ophelia: No one...
Maddy: Damien's living rent free in your head, I can tell.

๐—ข๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—˜๐˜…๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฒ:
Rust Teammate 1: Hey I was away for a few days, fill me in.
Rust Teammate 2: We just pulled off a massive raid on one of the most heavily fortified bases, and we destroyed it to smithereens!

Rust Teammate 1: Damn! nice!! I guess we must be living rent-free in those team's heads now, hahaha.
