Christian Universalism

1. The most misunderstood form of Christianity.

2. Used as slang by Fundamentalists towards anyone who includes all people into salvation, and not just their small cult.

3. The original belief from Jesus time till the 500's when the Church became imperialized by Rome. Most Christians in the East and the West believed this, such as Pantaneus, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, St. Gregory of Nyssa, St. Macrina the Younger, Theodore Montepusa, Diodore of Tarsus, and other such figures. It is also believed that St. John Crystostom, St. Ambrose, St. Basil and St. Gregory Nazanieth. Both Augustine and Basil admitt that most Christians believed in Universal Salvation. The belief was deemed heretical because the emperor Justinian demanded a council to condemn the belief as a heresy in the 500's.

4. They believe that by Jesus death and resurrection, that all will eventually come to salvation. They study the bible in its original context and understand the original greek words in their original use, not the church defined use. Contrary to popular belief, Universalism does not in any way give one a free pass to sin, or underestimate Jesus work on the cross. They still believe in punishment, but not that it is endless and is for corrective purposes. In fact, Universalism is the only form of Christianity that teaches both an all powerful and all loving God who will get rid of sin once and for all, and died not for a few, but insured everyone salvation.

Christian Universalism is the most loving form of Christianity, because they act like the real Jesus, not this angry Jesus the traditionalist teach.

Christian Punk

A Christian punk is, on a base level, just a Christian who enjoys punk music.

Many Christian punks adopt common punk, hardcore, or straight-edge ideologies. Common ideologies can be anti-consumerism, DIY ethos, anarchism or communism, vegetarianism, questioning of social norms, nonconformity, sexual abstinence, straight-edge living, and a distrust or disdain for authority.

Many in the punk subculture reject the term "Christian Punk" as an oxymoron. This is similar to the sentiments felt by many in the metal community about the term "Christian Metal". Critics claim that punk is, by it's very nature, in direct conflict with the mainstream (Christianity being included as a part of the mainstream).

Many churches and Christian leaders have rejected Christian Punk for other reasons. Many Christian Punk bands challenge listeners to question authority and social norms. They sometimes promote anarchism or communism. This has led to them being unwelcome in many Christian establishments. Some Christian Punk bands are not bothered by this, however, as they might reject some or all of the church establishment outright.

Defenders of the genre maintain that because of the many differing ideologies within the punk subculture, taking a radical, more libertarian look at the Bible doesn't necessarily separate an artist from the ideas that have always defined punk. They maintain that being a Christian and rejecting the mainstream are ideas that can coexist.

Punk #1: "Hey, look at that rocker over there with the cross and chi-rho!"
Punk #2: "Oh, he must be one of those Christian Punks."
Punk #1: "What's a Christian Punk?"
Punk #2: "I have no idea."

Church Leader: "You, Mr. Punk Rocker, are not welcome in this establishment. Come back when you can respect authority!"
Christian Punk: "Screw you and your shallow judgement. I'm only here for the free bread!"

christian anarchy

Christian Anarchy, also known as Christian libertarianism, is the belief that the only source of authority to which Christians are ultimately answerable is God, embodied in the teachings of Jesus. Most are pacifists, and feel that earthly authority such as government or the Christian Church do not, and should not, have power over them.
Leo Tolstoy is notable for having written extensively on his anarchist principles, which he arrived at via his Christian faith. Notably his books The Kingdom of God is Within You.

Christian Anarchy was the basis of the first, true Christians. Sadly human behavior cannot allow such peace to happen without a government.

Sunday Christian

Someone that uses the Christian religion to hide their lack of faith, immoral actions, and societal misdeeds on the guise that Jesus died for their sins. These people will sometimes attend church every sunday, or maybe even 'just' occasionally (and sometimes never at all) just to be looped into a large group in order to feel as though their shallow beliefs will be backed up because of sheer numbers.

Sunday Christians will also take anything said about their religion personally, and sometimes as an attack on "their" god. This gives them a false cause and a reason to feel righteous about themselves.

Sunday Christians are very rarely moral or honorable people. They assume that they are good people solely based on their religion, rather than their actions. Sunday Christians are frauds to the religion's bedrock of actual do-gooders.

"It doesn't matter if I ______, Jesus died for my sins, so I'll go to heaven."

Insert one of the following: Lie, cheat, steal, blasphem, murder, commit adultery, prejudge, am a racist, etc.

The term "Sunday Christian" is not usable in the example sentence.
