similar concept to an awkward turtle , an awkward tornado is when one puts their hands out to either side, and spins around whilst shouting "AWKWARD TURTLE" at the top of their lungs, to diffuse tension in a super awkward situation.
used only at times when an awkward turtle just isn't enough.
the tornado just shows how big the awkwardness is.

this happens when a situation is so awkward if the turtles weren't flying they would cut the tension and all hell would break lose. However, if the tension is cut an immediate mob of more flying turtles, awkward turkeys, awkward peacocks and regular awkward turtles start to surround the situation. If there is a silence from the awkward situation for longer than 5-10 seconds then a giant Awkward killing shark comes along and eats everything in one bite, thus returning everything back to normal.
I was buying condoms in the sex isle at the store the other day, and my girlfriends dad walked up and started having a conversation with me about her. When he saw what i was buying, flying awkward turtles started to swarm above me. Eventually they cut the tension and then a mob of turkeys, peacocks and more turtles started to swarm. The awkward palm tree is similar to the awkward turtle. Just as the awkward turtle is used to acknowledge an awkward pause or silence the awkward palm tree is a discrete way to signal to your friends that you are in an awkward situation and they need to come save you. The awkward palm tree is created by letting your wrists go limp so your arms and hands form a "V" and then crossing your arms at the wrist. In certain situations it may be appropriate to shout "awkward palm tree" or hold your hands in the sign above your head as a better signal to your friends.

A hand gesture made by placing four fingers on a surface with the middle finger straight out to resemble a dinosaur similar to a brontosaurus. Used in an awkward situation to release the tension. Very similar to the Awkward Turtle. This was created by fringe characters Jade and Lukalicious during the TV show 'Psych'
When telling a joke that no one gets, one can sometimes get a laugh by using the awkward retarded dinosaur in conjunction with a "wooof"
The 'woooof' can be replaced with any farmyard animal sound that indicates the awkward dinosaur is too retarded to know what sound it should make
