John Law

A police officer who does not abuse their power, and honorably upholds the motto "To Serve and Protect". An officer who remembers what it's like to be a kid, and carries insight for all people.

"John Law" - Dropkick Murphys

"Now let me tell you about a man named John Law He's a neighborhood cop the toughest man I ever saw A man who knows his duty, a man with a gun To the people in the neighborhood John Law is number one

Freeze, we said Stop His name was John Law For John Law, Neighborhood cop A man we know and love

When John Laws not kickin' Ass on robbers and rapist He's helpin little kids deliver newspapers When John Laws not chasin crackheads from their perch He's helpin old ladies on their way to church

chorus:

He walks the Beat Riding scumbags from the streets He turns his eye to petty crime Cause John Law will never drop a dime

Suburban Anarchists who've never broke the law Sing about police oppression, but they've never met John Law He doesn't fuck with young kids drinking in the Park But he makes the city safe for women after dark."

Gertrude's Law

Hamlet's mother, Gertrude, is famous for her quote "The lady doth protest too much, methinks". Gertrude's Law states that if a person is overly passionate about condemning a certain lifestyle choice, they most likely engage in that lifestyle secretly. Some notable examples are Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard, and most recently Arifinto, an Indonesian MP who helped pass an anti-pornography law. He was later photographed looking at porn on his iPad during a parliamentary debate.

That family values preacher just got caught at a glory hole. It looks like further proof of Gertrude's Law.

sister-in-law

Another ho who has the same pimp.

Usually hos call their pimp by the name Daddy, so any ho that has the same daddy would then be a sister. Members of the same pimp family are sometimes called in-laws, as opposed to prostitutes who work without a pimp that are called outlaws (or renegades). Put together, you get "sister-in-law."

Oh, her? She just chose up with Daddy, so I guess now she's my sister-in-law.

One person: I think she's kinda pretty.

Blair's Law

Coined by Australian journalist, Tim Blair as "the ongoing process by which the world's multiple idiocies are becoming one giant, useless force."

4. Blair's Law, people: WikiLeaks and the September 11 attacks are now being linked by some, albeit fringe, elements who see Julian Assangeโ€™s arrest as part of a plot to ensure the truth about the World Trade Centre attacks is not exposed. ("Wikitruthers", Tim Blair, 21/12/10)
