heating up cold soup

Heating up cold soup is when a person rekindles a romantic relationship from their (usually distant) past.

The soup is analogous to the relationship in this analogyโ€”and that soup isnโ€™t just room temp...itโ€™s straight up cold. Thus, the general sentiment is that the rekindling is with someone one has neither spoken with nor seen (nor obsessed over) in years.

Late 20โ€™s Girl #1: What are you doing tonight?
Late 20โ€™s Girl #2: Watching a movie at my apartment with Matt...
Late 20โ€™s Girl #1: Who is Matt?
Late 20โ€™s Girl #2: Matt Stephens...my high school boyfriend.
Late 20โ€™s Girl #1: Talk about heating up cold soup.
Late 20โ€™s Girl #2: Yeah. Donโ€™t tell anyone.

Miami Heat School Of Acting

Miami Heat players who fake fouls miserably. They sometimes fall or pretend to be hurt when near other players.

A. Did you see Dwayne Wade?

B. Yeah! He got fined $5,000 for faking a foul! Ugh, he is probably a graduate of the Miami Heat School of Acting...
