Samurai Math

Shortcuts that short-circuit hours of learning and practicing formal or traditional problem-solving methods to solving certain types of math problems.

Instead of spending hundreds of hours mastering the basics of school algebra, mature students or working adults with no formal education could be taught some quick-and-kill Samurai math methods, such as the Sakamoto method and the Stack Model Method.

Emoji Math

The use of emojis instead of letters or symbols in questions, equations, or expressions as an attempt to lure those who are not so symbol-minded to math.

An example of emoji math is to calculate the value of each item from the following pair of equations:
2 ๐Ÿฉ + โ˜•๏ธ = $3.90
3 ๐Ÿฉ + 2 โ˜•๏ธ = $6.60

Answer: ๐Ÿฉ = $1.20, โ˜•๏ธ = $1.50.

Sparx maths

Think of maths and times that by 10, no pun intended, this is by far the worst torture any child could face. The person who created this was rather the devil himself or just a huge maths geek. They took the child out of childhood. They even put an โ€œxโ€ at the end to try and be funny, haha! This website though, is the biggest waste of my life, you have to write everything down even if you know the answer. Most of the math nerds in my class think itโ€™s great but the small minority of people with common sense (like myself) realise what garbage this website is. if your school just signed up for sparx maths, rest in peace, my friend

โ€œWanna go to the parkโ€

โ€œSos bro gotta do my Sparx mathsโ€

โ€œHaha, good luckโ€

โ€œIt was nice knowing youโ€

Slavery Math

Math word problems of yesteryear that condones white racism or supremacism, such as the ungodly relationship between masters and slaves, lords and peasants, or colonizers and savages.

An 1814 issue of โ€œThe Analystโ€ poses the following slavery math problem: โ€œIf out of a cargo of 600 slaves, 200 die during a passage of 6 weeks from Africa to the West Indies; how long must the passage be that one half the cargo may perish? Supposing the degree of mortality to be the same throughout the passage, that is, the number of deaths at any time to be proportional to the living at the same time.โ€

Math Addict

One who enjoys math more than sex, money, and powerโ€”one who is so often engrossed with his proof that he forgets about his food.

Roy is a self-professed math addict, who admits that math is a way of life for himโ€”without the cold and austere security of math, his life would be meaningless and futile.

Marijuana Math

The use of marijuana or illegal drugs as a means of relaxation, or as an outlet for creativity, among the best brains in academia to crack those fiendish math problems.

Itโ€™s a common sight to see that a number of first-rate mathematicians are heavy smokers, especially when they need a break from their half-baked proofs; however, less commonly known is that the more daring ones would consider marijuana math, hoping for an aha! experience in the process.
