When somone belives that they are punk by dressing in black, metal studs and colors their hair. they dont know the meaning of punk and usually listen to bands like good charlotte and simple plan, avril laveige ect. They heard punk was cool so they dress it.
Look at that punk-tard moshing at the good charlotte concert. Shes got the band tee on and wrist bands that she baught at clairs.

Wow.. What can I say about SLC Punk? Well, for starters, it's a great movie that alomst anyone can relate to and/or get into. Not exactly appropriate for those under the age of 12, but hey, fuck your parents;; Watch it anyway.
Oh, and you, yeah you. The guy who's named "no" or whatever gay-ass name that is. You think that SLC Punk is a movie that kids don't get? Well fuck you man! I'm 14, and I've seen the movie 10 gillion times, and I own it. Oh, and you think that the movie will only "inspire" kids to get a mohawk and drink beer because it's "punk-rock"? Where the hell are you coming from? I fucking hate the taste of beer, and yeah, I've thought about getting a mohawk, but that was way before I saw the movie, buddy.

Before i tell you what punk really is, ill tell you wat its NOT:
Punk is not a mohawk
punk is not Hot Topic
and punk is definitely NOT the jonas brothers
Punk is a form of music that evolved out from rock. Most punk artists came from bad backgrounds, growing up in rough areas. These shitty childhoods fueled the anger when they were older. They directed this anger at the world, and they made music off of it. That's how punk came into being. Punk is raw anger put onto a guitar, a drum kit and a mic. This anger kept all punk bands going.Its hard to explain, but if you have ever seen the Sex Pistols, The Clash, or the Misfits live, you'd understand.
however, this anger also contributed the death of punk. They relied on it to give them energy. To override common sense and just pulverize your guitar. of course, nothing good ever lasts. as the bands got older and older, its hard to retain that anger. fury was replaced by reason, and impulse was replaced by common sense.
There is one main factors that contributed to the death of punk:
popularity
as strange as this sounds, punk's popularity was what killed it. Punk bands make millions, going on tour and selling albums. They all became rich. And when you're rich, its hard to stay angry at the world. The fuel, the spark that started it all was gone. If you've watched The Dark Knight, theres a line in there that fits perfectly: You either die the hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Those were the two options punk had. either quit at the top of their game, or continue on making money, but become total posers. This point is where most bands broke up. they said "screw it, we've gone as far as we can".
Now, real punk is replaced by punk rock. punk rock and punk are completely different. Punk is the Sex Pistols, The Ramones & The Clash. Punk rock is sum41, blink 182 and simple plan.

Simply put, a Punk Rocker who happens to have a Conservative/Libertarian standpoint and outlook on politics. This is not an oxymoron because if punk is really against government then there's no way they can logically work towards communism because communism is basically where the government controls every aspect of an individual's life! Where's the anarchy in that, you brainwashed idiots?! While it's worth noting that some Conservative Punks are genuine neo-conservative right wingers, the majority of them have a very strong Libertarian tilt to their political ideology.

Much like a Rock Opera, a Punk Opera follows a general story line, the difference is only the kind of music, a little more fast paced and catchier lyrics.
Many people consider Green Day's American Idiot (CD not song) to be a punk opera (especially Jesus of Surburbia and Homecoming).
