Math mixed with letters and other complicated things that you'll never use in life, you'll forget how to do it the next day, and is pretty pointless to teach.
Teacher: Simplify 2x² + 4(x² + 3) - 2 = 22
Student: I dont know how to do that kind of algebra

Contrary to most of the uneducated definitions here, algebra is one of the most important things to learn if you don't like flipping burgers.
