The act of passing out in a cab while traveling from one bar to another in order to be refreshed and energized upon arrival.
Cheryl: "Mike's totally passed out; he's done for the night. Tell the driver to take him home."
Tom: "Shit, no. He's just grabbing a cab nap...he'll be fine when we get there."

Basically the same thing as a Designated Driver. They go with a group of friends to a party but don't actually participate in drinking but they drive their drunk friends home.

Unmarked, unlicensed cabs, (usually vans) common in the "bad" areas of Brooklyn. Dollar Cabs take multi-passengers (as many that can fit) to a nearby landmarks/train stations safely during late night hours or when train stations are closed.
Dude...thought i was going to get mugged walking to the next station when the Parkside ave stop wasn't running. Luckily a dollar cab pulled up and took me to Atlantic Ave.

A random car that you flag down and offer to pay to take you home after a night drinking if no real cabs are present and you are desperate for a ride.
"It was fucking freezing out, so we had to calvin cab it home last night."
A cab heater is a term decades old from the trucking industry. A cab heater is a gun used for the driver’s protection. It can be a handgun either a revolver or a semi-automatic pistol or even a pump shotgun if space permits. Most of these weapons are acquired from the underground element so if used, they can be pitched and no link or connection to the driver can be made. Today, any gun in the passenger compartment of any vehicle can be called a cab heater.
Driver 1: Awe Shit, my first stop is on the East Side of Cleveland.
Driver 2: Sucks to be you. Hope you have a cab heater.
