Emo = Emotional.
It's a lie.
Emo is short for Emotive Hardcore, a music genre in the 80's. Then MTV messed up the definition, called lots of bands 'emo' and made a whole image for them. They brought yet another label that wasn't needed into this world. Now all that comes out of 'Emo' is bullying and being rejected because you're not cool enough.
News flash.
'Emo' doesn't make you a different person.
So stop acting like it does.

those weirdos who are usually try hard fakes. think my chemical romance is punk, and super awesome. THIS IS WRONG! was started by people who are bordering on goth, but dont want to fall into that catergory, so they made up their own catergory (emo) to make themselves feel like they are ultra individual. often skinny, like to think they can play instruments. listen to whiny songs.

I myself am a emo kid and this is what I think...
All the people that diss them should take a look at their own lifes and are just jealous because we can spell.
I myself do not cut or whine or listen to morbidly depressing music i listen to emotional music.
I dont shop at hot topic, much.., but thats better than all you anti-emos shopping at nike and soccerworld.
I think emos are emos because they are not afraid to express themselves and there emotions and y'all going to have to live with it.

First things first, "emo" is NOT short for emotional... Only the "scenekids" think that.After all, surely all songs ever written intend on having some form of emotion in them? Dashboard confessional is not emo. Emo kids don't all have the regulation, long fringe, black dyed hair. Emo kids are not the scene kids!
