Rats are various medium-sized, long-tailed rodents with round shaped ears. Species of rats are found throughout the order Rodentia, but stereotypical rats are found in the genus Rattus. Other rat genera include Neotoma, Bandicota and Dipodomys. Rats are typically distinguished from mice by their size. Most rats can be seen by the color of grey, black, or brown, They are sometimes called an mouse.

A rat is someone who rats. Rats are often found while playing cards (especially Texas Hold'em). Rats rat by catching lucky cards when they make horribler calls. Rats can also be found outside of a card game. Basically when someone does something that is bad for you, you have been ratted.
