Hobie Gates

A "placeholder" name used in law school hypotheticals. Origin unknown, but used in BarBri prep materials and sample outlines.

Hobie Gates died intestate. Three of his four children predeceased him. One child died without heirs, the other three had two children each. How much will each child receive in a state using per capita representation?

Cemetery Gates

Song by Pantera. Seven minutes long, fifth track of Cowboys from Hell. Often considered one of the greatest songs by Pantera.

The lyrics of Cemetery Gates:

Reverend, reverend
Is this some conspiracy?
Crucified for no sins
An image beneath me
What's within our plans for life?
It all seems so unreal
I'm a man cut in half in this world
Left in my misery...

The reverend he turned to me
Without a tear in his eyes
It's nothing new for him to see
I didn't ask him why
I will remember
The love our souls had
Sworn to make
Now I watch the falling rain
All my mind can see
Now is your (face)

Well I guess
You took my youth
I gave it all away
Like the birth of a
New-found joy
This love would end in rage
And when she died
I couldn't cry
The pride within my soul
You left me incomplete
All alone as the
Memories now unfold.

Believe the word
I will unlock my door
And pass the
Cemetery Gates

Sometimes when I'm alone
I wonder aloud
If you're watching over me
Some place far abound
I must reverse my life
I can't live in the past
Then set my soul free
Belong to me at last
Through all those
Complex years
I thought I was alone
I didn't care to look around
And make this world my own
And when she died
I should've cried and spared myself some pain...
Left me incomplete
All alone as the memories still remain

The way we were
The chance to save my soul
And my concern is now in vain
Believe the word
I will unlock my door
And pass the Cemetery Gates

Drop Gates

Verb: to drop gates

A gate is also known as a waterfall bong, a term popular in the Capital region of New York state. This apparatus is often used outdoors when no one has brought a bong to the sesh. It is a very cheap yet effective method of getting high. The Gate Station consists of three parts. First a large container of water, cut open two liter bottles work very well. The second piece is a plastic water bottle, standard sized Poland Spring bottles are good for this. And finally a โ€œgate topโ€ which is a bottle cap that fits on the water bottle with a socket wrench piece melted in. Now fill up the two liter with water approximately 90% or more. Now put grinded up bud into the socket wrench opening , screw on the cap, ignite with a lighter and lift up. When it has stopped burning take off the cap and inhalr

โ€œYo bro letโ€™s go to spot and drop gatesโ€
โ€œHell yeah man heaters all dayโ€

age gate

An absolutely foolproof way to keep minors from viewing content deemed "too mature" for them to watch.

Billy: "So I was trying to watch some videos for an M rated game, and I ran into an age gate, so I put in my real birthday. SOMEHOW it managed to figure out that I am 12. CURSE YOU AGE GATE!!!"

Bill: "Fucking age gate! *quick scroll* THERE! I was born on January 1, 1904. Fuck you age gate."
