But, also when someone is above of something else, he is "über etwas".
"Ich bin über Dir." - I am above of you.
"Ich bin überglücklich!" - I am very lucky.

To be completely and utterly 'blind-sided' by a competitor or underdog (in business or socially)
(ie: To do to someone else what Uber did to the Taxi Cab industry)

Uber, the german word for over, has become adopted as a phrase to add emphasis.
Ordinarily in a positive sense.

The worst use of a word from German because it sounds uber-tacky. See what I mean? I have never heard a German use that expression- ever. Please stop so you won't make a fool of yourself.
