A standard west Cornwall greeting often used with other colloquial terms, sounds a lot like pirate slang in thick Cornish. Can be heard a long way away.
Yew boy wazzon, I'll be there dreckly.
Typical Cornish greeting probably more used in West Cornwall. It might of meant Thursday in cornish which was market day so could have meant see you next Thursday. Or see you dreckly.
To congratulate someone for doing something good or bad. If you see someone do something good you can say ya yew. Or if someone says something mean or wrong. You can say ya yew to let them know in a sarcastic way that your not stoked on there comment or actions.
“Ya yew” said Jaycob to his friend after he got spit out of a sick barrel.🤙🏽
