When you purely adore and admire another girl, but are not sexually attracted to her. In some cases, though, a girl can be attracted to just that one girl, and no other girls. They may even fall in love with them. Girl crushes can be on celebrities, or girls you know personally. I personally am IN LOVE with my girl crush.
My girl crush mesmerized me, and continues to mesmerize me every time I see her.

to have a crush on a younger person, or a person that might not be that young, but looks young. Can be used in any verb tense, for pedo-crushing has been happening for centuries, is happening at this very moment, and will live through to eternity.

A band crush is when a person obsesses over a band/musician that they like. This could include constantly or repeatedly listening to their music within a short amount of time, to obessivly researching them (including personal lives.) In some extreme cases of band-crushing, the crusher will protect the crushee from any form of criticism whether from friends or others.
"I've read all about (insert band/musician here)! I even know their pet's names!"
"Dude, you've got a total band-crush going on"
"Hey, have you heard (insert band here)'s new single? it's a real let down"
"YOU TAKE THAT BACK!"
"Woahh man, don't have a band crush!"

Having such a hate for someone that you start creeping on their Facebook to see what they're doing as if you have a crush on them. Most common in Ex's. For example, Checking your boyfriend's ex's page repeatedly to see if her pictures are prettier than yours or if she's seeing anyone or if she's talking to him.
"Did you see that she's in an "open relationship"? What a skank. I have the biggest hate crush on her.

Respect, admiration and idolization of another man. Non-sexual. Celebrities, athletes and rock stars are often the object of the man crush.
You can not have a man crush on a friend of yours. That is simply a strong friendship.
Two possible conditions for determining if you have a man crush are:
1. Badly wanting to be that man.
2. If your man crush approached your significant other and began hitting on her, you would excuse yourself and let him have her, at least temporarily.
I have a man crush on Sidney Crosby. I would likely sell my soul to be him and if he wanted to nail my girlfriend, I'd compliment him on his awesomeness and excuse myself.
