Woke

Woke means paying attention to whats being done in your name, to your life, in your community, to your neighbors, in your country, in our world. It means taking a stand against injustice where ever it presents. And continuing to strive even if its not personal or apparent.

Its voting in the primary and midterms, not just every four years, for a candidate whose record you have researched. And staying on your representatives to be sure the will of the People is first and foremost on their agenda...

Woke originated in the Black Community.

A 1962 New York Times Magazine article titled "If You're Woke You Dig It" by Black novelist William Melvin Kelley, describing the appropriation of African American slang by white beatniks. While I can understand the author's irritation at their appropriation I can also hear echoes of Divide and Conquer.

The powers that be much prefer the status quo. They cannot stand against the People United.
Woke means being mindful of your influence and never never ever giving up. Striving for the best world that can be. It means having principles and ideals, not just opinions. Woke is sometimes seen as passive but #StayingWoke is being knowledgeable and aware of where your power lies. Knowledge is Power and what is Power if it is not used?

My mother told me its about money, not color. The minute you let them fool you, they've won.
My mother was woke.

Woke

'The belief that one is more enlightened, their intentions purer and more correct, and that what they say, do, or practice is always in the best interest of whomever they deem as worthy or in need of it, usually a minority group and/or a financial demographic'

Woke person A: "I believe we must empower said group, and only listen to people of said group, as they are less represented, and I care about championing and giving a voice to people!"
Woke Person B: "What about the other group from the other demographic, who have a conflicting opinion?"
Woke Person A: "Well uh, um, t-they are bad and their views don't matter! Like I said, I champion and give a voice to people, b-but not those other p-people! Shut up!"
