swim bully

"Swim bully" refers to an individual who exerts pressure, coercion, or employs bullying tactics to persuade or force someone into swimming, despite their reluctance or refusal to do so. This behavior can manifest in various forms, such as verbal harassment, mockery, peer pressure, or even physical intimidation, with the intent of overriding the other person's autonomy and comfort regarding swimming. The term underscores the specific context of swimming, highlighting the unique social dynamics and pressures that can occur in aquatic environments.

"Stop pressuring that handsome American to take a swim in the ocean," Stingray said to the red-headed Aussie girl. "But no one ever regrets a swim!" the red-headed girl replied. "No," said Stingray, "you're being a swim bully—which is, of course, the worst kind of bully there is. So bugger off."
