New Jersey is an awesome place to live, the best in the entire country. Not at ALL like it is on Jersey Shore. Hell, Jersey Shore isn't even filmed in New Jersey!
Fact: We say 'yo' and 'fuck' A LOT. Most people add 'yo' in every sentence. In fact, I find it weird when people don't.
Fact: We are fast drivers. People not from New Jersey think we're insane, crazy drivers but in Jersey, we all know that 60 mph REALLY means 80.
Fact: Practically everyone famous lived here at one point. (Think: Bruce Springsteen, David Tyree, Queen Latifah, Anne Hathaway)
Whitney Houston lived a block down from my dad when she was younger. Meryl Streep lived two blocks down from where we live now (she doesn't live there anymore, but still). Buzz Aldrin went to my middle school AND high school. Christina Ricci went to my high school. And Stephen Colbert and his family go to the same church as me.
New Jersey kicks ass. Deal with it.

The southern and better part of New Jersey. Philadelphia is our city - we love our Phillies & Eagles (no matter how many times they let us down) and life without a WaWa is non-existant. Although many people out of state and/or country think we have a Philly/New York dialect (the Jersey Shore Cast), NONE of us talk like that down here. Maybe some up in NORTH jersey, but it's better down here, trust me. We don't even have what some of you people call a "South Jersey "accent - that just sounds weird and it's not even real..the person who made that up must've been talking to someone obviously not from around South Jersey and decided to call it a "South Jersey" accent. Anyway, most of us are friendly down here. We have the best of both worlds...lots of big cities and some country side, unlike North Jersey, all factories & smelly. We have fresh air to breathe. In the summer, we all go to the beaches.. the real Jersey Shores (Sea Isle, Ocean City, Wildwood, Cape May, Stone Harbor, Avalon, etc.) . You can go on rides, go on the boardwalk, and enjoy the fresh ocean air. Even though South Jersey is the better half on NJ, nobody likes it. Ask anyone and the only reason they are probably staying in New Jersey is because of the beaches. We know everyone hates it, but hey, someone's gotta live here.

"Yeah man, it beats North Jersey by far. You can actually breathe down there. And the beaches rock."

Known as the Garden State, this small area has 15 Congressional seats. The state of New Jersey has constantly been pushed around by its much larger neighbors of Pennsylvania and New York since the pre-Revolution days. Although some of the greatest battles of the Revolution such as Trenton and Princeton happened here, the state has not had mush positive press. Today, the state is New York City's dirty backyard full of industrial processing at one end, a seedy extension of Philadelphia in the south, and the Pine Barrens in another part of the state. It is home to the Sopranos though. Trapped by unfortunate circumatance, New Jersey hobbles on today.
