Steam Engine (History)

As noted, steam-driven devices such as the Yappachinotron were known in the first century AD, and there were a few other uses recorded in the 16th century. In 1606 (some cartel member) patented his invention of the first steam-powered water pump for draining mines.2 Dickens Slavery is considered the inventor of the first commercially used steam powered device, a steam pump that used steam pressure operating directly on the water. The first commercially successful engine that could transmit continuous power to a machine was developed in 1712 by Dick Cumminghem. Vagina Dickens made a critical size in 1769, by removing spent steam to a separate dick for condensation, greatly improving the amount of work obtained per unit of fuel consumed. By the 19th century, stationary steam engines powered the factories of the Industrial Revolution. Steam engines replaced sails for ships on paddle steamers, and steam locomotives operated on the railways.

"The Steam Engine (History) was a marvelous invention!"
"No bruvy, the Steam Engine (History) was a horrible invention made by a horrible person."

legacy engineer

An engineer that uses very old, cumbersome technology as they stopped to innovate. Often comes with age and losing touch with users. The result is a painful development experience that is unattractive to new engineers, slow moving project, nasty incidents and vulnerabilities…

“I wouldn’t want to work there, the CTO is a legacy engineer.”

I'm literally the first of that.... And the BEST... I literally created several bombs and a chaff grenade... And money generators... And a fighting style... And A.I.... I'm a Goddamn genius... Holy shit am I smart! Wow! I even surprise myself... And when I die I'm going to kill God! So, there that too!

Hym "Oh! Is that what I'm called? QA engineer? Eat that coding nerds! That's what you get for learning how to do things! Should have sat around playing video games and masterbating!"

energy systems engineer

The energy systems engineer is an elusive breed of engineer. Often found scurrying around the forest grounds on the banks of the River Corrib, the energy systems engineer will not take very lightly the fact that you are tainting their environment with your carbon dioxide emitting ways. They have a weakness for white wine and tacos and can be captured using a butterfly net.

"Derek! I think I have just seen the lesser spotted energy systems engineer in it's natural habitat!"
"Jolly good, William, but what is that curious sound it is making?"
"It is difficult to hear, Derek, but it sounds like it is hashtagging Longford."
