An institution that society uses to further sort, sift, and weed out its members into basic categories of winners and losers.
While some students will succeed in community college and obtain a vocational credential or transfer to a 4-year school (both of which are noble) many will find it just as difficult as their high-school experience and will drop out and work in a menial job for the rest of their life. Others will graduate with an Associate's degree in nothing special and will find jobs pretty much as inaccessible to them as if they only had a high school diploma or equivalent.
Either way, society helps its members find their own level, giving those with merit the opportunities they deserve while preventing those who don't meet a basic threshold of academic aptitude (or intelligence/ambition/discipline) from obtaining a degree they surely DON'T deserve.
Of course, this is NOT what CC's themselves SAY they exist for--it's what they ACTUALLY DO.
"I hate high school. I think I'll go to community college after I graduate/drop out." That won't work out.
"I'm going to the local community college to get my paramedic's certification."

A women's college located in Raleigh, NC. The women there are one of a kind and may be looked at as strange because of their many traditions and rules sometimes (like Cornhuskin' and boy hours), but Meredith Angels are the best! You can always tell a Meredith girl, but you can't tell her much!
Chapel Hill girls are pretty, Duke girls are smart, but it takes a Meredith girl to win a fella's heart. UNCW girls are tan, Wake Forest girls got flow, but when you want the best looking girl... Meredith College is where you go. NC State girls are wild, Peace girls are fun, but a Meredith gal is always the best one! Girls will be girls, north, south, east, and west, but MC girls is infinitely rate the best. To any man who reads this and truly wants to know... if you have a Meredith Angel you should never let her go!

An under-evolved version of radio used to teach Radio/Television majors how to communicate across mass airwaves. Most commonly categorized by the long silences between songs and even sentances. Sometimes funny, but mostly not.
I was listening to the college radio station the other day.

Stonehill College is small liberal arts college located in the perpetually dull town of Easton, Massachusetts. In order to increase its diversity, Stonehill has started handing out FREE TUITON flyers to the black kids of Brockton. So far, limited success. The school is notorious for being super academic-based Sunday through Thursday and absurdly party-based Friday and Saturday. Rumor has it that Stonehill kids don't really drink. This is a lie. The truth is, Stonehill kids don't really KNOW HOW TO drink. This is why, on any given Friday or Saturday night, you will find an ambulance in front of the freshmen dorms taking them in groves to the local hospital. Other than that, Stonehill is a lovely school full of trees and brick buildings. Yeah.
Doctor, we have multiple transports coming in from Stonehill College.

the place where 'da boys' originate from. several days a year it is said that the moon lights up the yard and turns it into a sacred blessing ground for maple trees, this however has never been proved. alot of work goes into the preservation of the rusty crusty found on the anoos of each pupil. techniqually it is the only place in the worl where muslims can eat garlic bread freely. Also believed that someone took a shit at the front door in protest against the sausage rolls.
