On Papa Gilles is a phrase which is a way of saying that someone is telling the truth. Similar to another phrase such as “on my mom”. But the difference lies, and the fact that you have to tell the truth when saying this, if you do not Papa Gilles dies and you are kicked out of the friend group/never trusted again
