1. A slug is a mollusk, similar in appearance to a snail. They do not have shells like snails have, however some have a soft internal shell located under the mantle (a flap of skin near the slugs' head.) Salt kills them. They enjoy eating plants, animal feces (poop) and in some cases dead animals!
