Duck Law

After the late Matthew Dutkiewicz, "Duck Law" is anything one may say at random times that has got to be (by popular decision) an utter lie and made up fictional subject to convey a point that is so untrue it has got to be true. Hence it is "Duck Law". "Duck Law" only works through persistent argument.

Matt: I'm ganna get a 5 dollar scratch-off, you ALWAYS win money off those

Leland: What? No you don't

Matt: Ya you do, all the time, it never fails bro

Leland: Your not ganna win!

Brendan: Don't argue with him.. He's pulling some sort of "Duck Law" here

Daughter-in-law

A daughter-in-law is the woman your son is married to, she can be a sweet loving young woman who you are proud to admit to your family or she could be the evil witch you wish you could pour water over and she instantly disappears

My oldest son's wife is my ideal daughter-in-law
My 2nd sons wife is the wicked witch of the west from The Wizard of Oz pass me the bucket of water

Stone's Law

The principle that the more stoned you are, the more likely normal things around you are to break. It is a direct relationship between the user and the objects (electronics, doors, food packaging, public fountains) wherein the objects break in front of the user, causing him or her to wonder if the item is really broken or if they are really high.

Circa 2012: named for the American designer, professor and coffee connoisseur, who first proposed such an idea in 2006.

(After getting high) "Weird, my headphones have always worked before but now the left earpiece is broken. Is it broken? Or is this just Stone's Law?"

Burphie's Law

The opposite of Murphy's Law.

It's been raining all month, but lookie here! The skies have cleared up just in time for our camping trip! Must be Burphie's law!

Barbara’s Law

If something can be made worse in any way by continuing to fuck with it. See also Murphy’s Law and False Perfectionism.

I wish she would just stop. We are well into Barbara’s Law at this point
