outside joke

A joke that is only funny to parties that are not involved in the joke, but is depressing, frustrating, or simply not funny to parties that are involved in the joke. It is essentially the opposite of an inside joke.

Insider: I can't believe I sharted in my pants during jury duty.
Outsider: HAHAHAHAHA!
Insider: *Grrr* Yeah, I guess it's kind of an outside joke.

Typical of people with no friends or imaginary friends.

a rape joke is when someone who hasn't been raped makes a joke about other rape survivors and it hurts them.

Nick said "Rape joke" , a rape survivor said "That wasn't funny and it made me feel really bad", Nick replied "Snowflake" " why don't you just take a joke" " its called dark humor"

When someone asks you to do something totally absurd to the point were you think they are joking.

"Timmy's got jokes if he thinks I'm going to sell him my $3000 rims for $500 bucks!"
