Someone portraying themself as something other than who they really are. A gang member is one kind of poser.
The poser girl took that kid's soccer ball/ basketball/football/baseball to the construction site to bait the guy.
Tattoo artist- I wouldn't wake her and tell her what a poser she is, you'll get hurt.

The fresh, streetwise girl from Dunwoody that always talks about all the uptight posers around her. She might even rap about them in her turbo charged ride when nobody is looking/recording, who knows but her.
She was a poser, but everybody seemed to respect her for some reason. It might have been her bank account.
Someone desperate to convince the world they are not a prude and dont care what anybody thinks, despite being pretentious and/or superficial.
The poser said he/she didnt care what anybody thought of him/her and that he/she wasnt a prude, but his/her actions showed someone who cared desperately about what people thought of him/her.
Someone who thinks that if you like yourself even a little bit, or you like where you're from, or you like your life, that you're prideful because you dont think the way they think, you dont think everything in life that doesnt have dollar signs to go with it sucks.
Nobody was going to miss the poser telling them about freedom and life while trying to gain more power.
Someone who starts claiming to be tough around the edges at some point as an adult, though it's not who he/she is or was as a kid.
The poser kept posing as somebody with a rough edge, even though giving intel (or counter intel) to teacher's and authority figures, and other shit that he/she did as a spy kid was closer to his/her own definition of smooth, always evading trouble for himself/herself while getting everyone else in trouble. Really, the poser's rough edge image was created as a defense to keep people from messing with him/her like they did when he/she was a kid.
Someone who tries the rebellious teenager image even though they were always the goody two shoes who behaved exactly within the rules as expected by authority figures, and got other people in trouble or spied on them as a kid.
The poser was never any of what he/she claimed to be.
