the aokigahara effect refers to the usage of the idea of "any press is good press", meaning that any publicity about a person or brand, be positive or negative, will be beneficial to the person or brand in the short term.
it is named aokigahara effect after the time the "any press is good press" idea was infamously used by logan paul when he visited aokigahara and mocked a corpse on camera

"hey did you see apples new $700 wheels?"
"yeah but dont talk about it, they are just using the Aokigahara Effect to get more media coverage"
